South San Francisco – August 25, 2023 – Genome Medical has won a Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Silver Award in the Learning & Development category for its RISE Patient Engagement Modules’ education videos. RISE increases access to genetic services and supports patient decision-making, spanning the continuum of genetics care through scheduling, hereditary cancer and genetic risk assessment, patient triage, and patient education. The videos were created by Genome Medical’s Education & Engagement team in collaboration with Ninja Tropic, an animation company that focuses on eLearning solutions.
Early identification of patients at risk for hereditary cancer is crucial for prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Despite this, clinical guidelines are complex, dynamic and challenging to integrate into clinical practice. Fewer than one in five patients who meet guidelines for hereditary cancer testing are appropriately identified. RISE improves screening and care by collecting and analyzing family and personal health history to determine if a patient meets genetic testing criteria for hereditary cancer.
